Thank you season

Something I’ve noticed over the years is more “thank you”s in late November through mid-December. It might have something to do with Thanksgiving. Starting about Monday before and running at least a couple weeks after, I notice supervisors, mentors, and clients express more pointed expressions of thanks.

That’s not to say I don’t see them throughout the year; it just feels like an uptick.

I ought to document them and create trend lines. There’s every possibility I am feeling attentional bias. I’m thinking about Thanksgiving, so my brain is primed for it, so the “thank you”s feel attached to it when there’s not more than normal. Data would tell me.

Maybe someday when I’m not so busy.
