A retired coworker was fond of the saying:

A super cranky former coworker railed about the terribleness of email. Mainly that too much stuff tried to go into email when it should be better off in RSS feeds or other.

My Outlook email desktop client updated this week. And one of the new features is suggested replies.

Email.

I already get too much email to read it all and still have time to do the work required to keep things going. Which means I miss things and have to go looking. Important people get flagged for follow up the same day. But, even those are still getting missed. I may have to add something to my calendar to devote time just for that.
