What's your favorite radio station, past or present?
MUSIC: Over the past several years, I've made dozens of trips through the Atlanta area. I found 99.7, aka 99X, to have the artists I enjoyed. Now that I am in Athens, the signal reaches me so I can have it as a pre-set in my car. My iPod has a "99X" playlist which has music I'd expect to hear from the station. Back in the mid-90s, I would hear Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, NIN, and Stone Temple Pilots on it. Now, I hear Artic Monkeys, Blue October, The Flaming Lips, The Nixons, Panic! at the Disco, and Sneaker Pimps on it.
NEWS: WFSU, the Florida Public Radio used to be where I left the dial when I was in Valdosta. They did a mix of NPR and PRI. Morning, day, or night, except for weekend nights when weird stuff was played. Fresh Air used to be one of my favorite shows. In North GA, I no longer get WFSU (unless I go online) and only get Georgia Public Radio which doesn't have the mix of content I like which is why I listened to the FPR. 🙂
