People could carry their medical records around their necks or on key chains through technology being encouraged in a bill passed Friday by the Senate.

“When they go to the doctor’s office they won’t have to take that little clipboard and figure out whatever it is that they can remember about their health,” said Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

This is way, way better than RFID implanted chips. Filling out all those forms is an inconvenience, yes. My less than good recollection I am sure has gaps. Even something like getting patients to carry the record in an all too ubiquitous a Word document in a USB key’s flash memory card. I carry a 1GB card on my keys. Millions of others do as well.
