The Electronic Freedom Foundation has a number of very useful resources. They fight for the freedom of people to express their freedom of speech on the Internet.

Their Legal Guide for Bloggers looks to have some pretty good information. For example, I have been reading on The Bloggers’ FAQ on Online Defamation Law which seems to say more clearly some of the things I have been trying to get across to a couple people. They do not yet have anything in The Bloggers’ FAQ on Labor Law but I imagine when they do, it will be one of the best resources.
