Spent all night last night farting around on a server migration. Spent most of the day today finishing the problems. In dire need of a nap. Got to go move 2 couches and a recliner tonight. Should have taken up the free dinner tonight? Got a free lunch from last week’s favor.

Still have a host of things to do at work.

• Accounts on new server (over 100).
• Databases and other dynamic serices on new server (estimate 20-30).
• Patches for another system will just have to wait as will the other 10 critical projects I am supposed to have done this week.

The life of a sysadmin? Yeah, I need to use my geeky ties to get a clone of me. Wait…. that will take too long, I need something that will be here in a couple years not 20…

One thing I have discovered is a DVD player in a laptop is very neat. Never really thought it was really kewl until I played on in a work laptop last August while in Atlanta. Better than channel surfing (which I did while watching the movie, btw). Been looking at laptops lately. Mostly HP, Toshiba and Dell. An Alienware Mobile would really be awesome, but I just don’t have that kind of cash.

Wow… 10 year high school reunion is not all that far away. Should have seen that coming, but I didn’t. Thankfully, I’ve got time to lose 20-30 pounds, find a trophy girlfriend to make the guys drool, and land that killer job that makes me the envy of everyone there. Or I could just remain a geek without a girlfriend and a kegger for a stomach and a technical higher ed job.
