Hmmmmmm… DVDs are looking to be on the up and up. The next gen DVD discs can hold up to 24 GB (currently 4.7 GB). Future versions could hold up to 50 GB.High school and college friend of mine did a summer research internship where they were growing on iron-oxides and relatives in nanoscopic sizes for potential use in increasing the sizes of hard drives. Add to that the 3D data storage concept which could exponentially gorw these drives.

Data storage will only get better. On the downside that means Microsoft will feel okay about bloating their code even more…. Even though your DVD could hold 6 times more, does that mean that they will use a more rich (larger) bit rate?
